Challenge
SheppID, on behalf of MicroGem, reached out to Libera Graphics with the need for urgent development and design of a product name, Identity, and end-to-end packaging. In the face of an immense medical emergency, we needed to rapidly integrate with the existing team of collaborators. Our role was to contribute and consult on the creative design and packaging function. The greatest challenge was time - In the midst of the global pandemic, everything to do with this project was due yesterday and required a round-the-clock, 24/7 effort.
Action
Our team's ability to quickly onboard, research, and contribute made an immediate impact. We dove into researching the competitive landscape, the FDA approval requirements and the process of achieving FDA Emergency Use Authorization. We also helped audit and identify the logistical needs and requirements for global medical packaging. Then we transitioned quickly into development and ideation, prototyping, testing, refinement and execution.
Result
Together with MicroGEM, SHEPP ID, and Stephen Gould, the Libera Graphics team collaborated to bring to market the world's first saliva-based Point of Care PCR detection system. Under unprecedented urgency due to the global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 health crisis, our team of global contributors was able to develop, design, name, brand, package and market this imperative medical detection system in under two years. The result is a legitimate game changer in the battle to fight COVID-19 and future SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks.
